BOGOSLOF VOLCANO ERUPTS

The Bogoslof volcano, located in the Aleutian Islands, erupted on Wednesday, sending an ash cloud about 31,000 feet into the air.

The Alaska Volcano Observatory increased the threat level to red, the highest level.

Satellite images showed the ash cloud moving to the northeast over the Bering Sea.

The volcano erupted on December 16, 2016 and has erupted at least 13 times since that date.
